"My current work incorporates ornate 'baroque' style picture frames with miscellaneous found objects and discarded/reclaimed 'junk.' It is an exploration referencing ideas of a sense of place, personal and impersonal histories (both real and imagined), and permanence/impermanence. My working method is intuitive and spontaneous in nature, comparable to improvisation in music. Pieces develop in a spontaneous fashion; unplanned and with no specific intent regarding outcome or materials to be utilized. As a result, all of my works go through numerous stages of transformation and development before they finally reach completion. The completed works are raw and rough by conventional notions, and flirt with excess, while at the same time attempting to achieve a certain level of rough elegance."
