About Us

The Saskatchewan Craft Council (SCC) is a non-profit organization representing over 300 craft artisans in Saskatchewan through community engagement, programming, and promotion. Located in Saskatoon’s Broadway arts district, the SCC hosts six annual exhibitions and features a gift shop showcasing handmade creations by over 100 juried craftspeople.

The SCC Fine Craft Shop offers a curated selection of handcrafted jewelry, fiber art, woodwork, pottery, glass, photography, metalwork, and visual art. Each piece reflects exceptional craftsmanship, meeting the SCC’s nationally recognized standard of quality. Shoppers can enjoy truly original, handmade artwork.

SCC History

Founded in 1975 by 57 artisans, the SCC set out to promote local craftsmanship, enhance quality, and foster community. Over the years, it has organized workshops, exhibitions, and craft markets, including the prestigious Dimensions exhibition and events like Wintergreen, Waterfront, and Harvest Moon.

Since relocating to 813 Broadway Avenue in 1990, the SCC has hosted exhibitions and promoted Fine Craft through outreach programs, demonstrations, and mentorships. The organization has helped Saskatchewan artisans achieve national recognition, with events like the Emma Collaboration drawing global attention.

Committed to preserving both traditional and experimental craft, the SCC continues to support artisans through mentorship, workshops, and exhibitions, ensuring Saskatchewan’s craft legacy thrives.
