Collection: Lunar Lore
Lunar Lore is an SCC Gallery exhibition which combines the work of Hanna Yokozawa Farquharson (Saltcoats), Savannah Holt (Saskatoon), and Zoë Schneider (Regina) in an exhibition that bathes the viewer in the full embrace of the moon. Fibre, ceramics, and sculpture illuminate the varied ways these artists approach the moon as inspiration. Working with themes of cyclicality, time, consistency, and ritual, Lunar Lore offers a journey through the many ways we know the moon, speaking to its universality of themes.
Cyclicality, circles, and spheres are central to the flow of the exhibition, encouraging the viewer to succumb to the natural pull of the lunar influence. Lunar Lore invites appreciation for fine craft, stimulating ideas, and a warm embrace, making for a unique yet inviting viewer experience.
