Llama fibre; wet felting
35.5 x 193 cm
"This work was made by wet felting llama fiber from 3 different llamas belonging to the artist. Wet felting is the process of applying heat, moisture and pressure to the fiber so the fibers will bind together to create a fabric. Llama fiber as a medium for fabric production is often overlooked, as owning this breed of animals is less popular than it has been in the past in Canada. It is warmer than sheep wool as the shaft of the fibers has a larger air space within."
