Collection: Glen Miskolczi
Glen Miskolczi began sculpting in clay and moved to bronze sculpture under the mentorship of Bill Epp. His first shows, around 1988, were in collaboration with Epp at the Frances Morrison Gallery in Saskatoon and galleries in Vancouver, BC, where to his delight, all his works sold. He continued to work with Bill Epp until Epp’s passing. Miskolczi never stopped creating, an esteemed member of the Prairie Sculptors through his career. Through the Prairie Sculptors, he had the opportunity to meet Jim Jennson of Nise Foundry in Mount Nebo and Don Begg’s Studio West in Cochrane Alberta and worked at both of their foundries.
His interest in CM Russel’s work was always his motivation to create. His work was so fluid, and his subjects were those of Miskolczi’s interest as well. Miskolczi’s rodeo and cattle ranching fit right in with Russel’s style.
Miskolczi’s work has shown with Prairie Sculptors Association at The Gallery Frances Morrison Library, at Chapel Gallery in North Battleford, and at USask Innovation Place. I had individual works for sale at The Humanum Gallery in Saskatoon. Other group exhibitions that he has been included in are Not Just Another Horse in Lethbridge, Alberta, The Artists Show at the Sapp Gallery in North Battleford, and Dimensions 2008 at Saskatchewan Craft Council in Saskatoon. Often he shows his works at the Calgary Stampede Bronze Exhibitions. in 2021, he was celebrated in Sasktel’s Max Local Demand.
