Collection: Charley Farrero

From Paris, France, Charley Farrero has worked as a ceramic artist since 1972.
He studied Fine Arts in Regina SK, and currently lives and works as an artist in Meacham, Saskatchewan.

He uses all ceramic processes. His sculptural ceramic pieces incorporate slip cast objects, hand-built additions, grout, ceramic frames and shards, commercial tiles and found objects.
The creation of his sculptural ceramics has been free of any one strong principal influence.

Inequality, injustice, incarceration, class differences and colonialism are addressed in some of his works. Other works are more of a personal nature, sometimes humoristic.
He did not adopt a school of thought or a trend.
He had to invent his own voice.
