Mark Noete

My name is Mark Noete and I live in Saskatoon, SK. Over the years I have done many DIY home projects and renovations. While living in Calgary between 2001 and 2007, I met Rick Wolcott, a West Coast artist, teacher, and storyteller. He sparked my artistic spirit while teaching me many wood carving skills. I later returned to Saskatoon and continued to expand my skills to include bird carving and painting. I retired in 2018 and during Covid I dusted off my lathe and started wood turning. In striving to improve my wood turning skills, I have travelled to various locations taking classes from professional woodturners like Michael Hosaluk, Jimmy Clewes, Trent Bosch, Jean-Francois Escoulen, Trent Watts, Stewart Furini, and Jacque Vesery. My present day works now combine all these different skills and techniques to create pieces that are more artistic than functional.
